The 09-01 Captain's Challenge 

 The Captain's Callenge was held at "The Last Call" on 24 February 2009.  We had a pretty good turn out for the challenge this time around 16 players/8 teams so it made for a nice even bracket.  We had several players from the league show up and wanted to play but the Challenge is for the Captains and Council to thank them for their service to the league.  Alot of those players hung out to cheer on their Captains-or was it to play scratch off tickets and drink?

For the players that wanted to play my best advice for you is to get a team together for the next league and be the captain of your own ship.....

 First Round - The first rounds of the night started out with, Sam & Jay winning over Abe & Melissa, George & Stevie winning over Todd & Pat, Cheryl & Jeff winning over Rock & Mike C., Rick & Brian winning over Maria & Antonio.

The Second round of the winners bracket saw Sam & Jay win a close one over George & Stevie and Rick & Brian win their match vs Cheryl and Jeff

The thrid round of the winners bracket had Sam & Jay play a tough match against the powerhouse of Rick & Brian, with Rick & Brian pulling out the win.  That left Rick & Brian to wait for their final opponent to come from the Losers bracket.

Sam & Jay droped to the losers bracket to face George & Stevie fresh from a win over Cheryl & Jeff (earning Cheryl & Jeff 4th Place).  George & Stevie beat Sam & Jay to advance to play Rick & Brian in the final.

Rick & Brian won the match without having to play a second set.

1st Place - Rick Terry and Brian Blake

2nd Place - George Goessens and Stevie Adam

3rd Place - Sam Easterby and Jay Boarman

4th Place - Cheryl Spears and Jeff Maxwell

Thank you to all of the Captains that came out to play, it was a fun night.
